World Refugee Day Hosted by Immigration Network

In honor of World Refugee Day, the Immigration Network will host a free public celebration on the Allen County Public Library’s plaza today.

A global day to honor and celebrate the resiliency and success of refugees, this year’s theme is Building Belonging Together. The two-hour event will be filled with stories of hope and cultural experiences. The public is welcome to join the free festivities on the ACPL Plaza from 12:00 to 2:00 for performances and activities showcasing cultures from around the globe.  

The Immigration Network focuses on assisting refugees and immigrants in our community. The partnership includes four nonprofit organizations: St. Joseph Community Health Foundation, Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend, Amani Family Services, and International House.

  • Afghan Dance duo performing Aryana Sayeed’s Saat e Brand

  • Karen Youth Dance Group performing the Don Dance

  • Carlos Alberto performing on guitar

  • Fort Wayne United Zo Organization Dance Group performing traditional Zo dances

  • Amaneceres de Mexico performing traditional Mexican dances
